Proper nutrition is the key to not only getting big and strong…but also remaining healthy for years to come.
But poison in the food system is making it hard for people to be healthy…
It is so bad where some people live…
…all of the food like products they have easy access to are made from toxic ingredients.
In fact, these places have been nicknamed ‘food deserts’…
Food deserts are described as geographic areas where residents’ access to affordable, healthy food options (especially fresh fruits and vegetables) is restricted or nonexistent due to the absence of grocery stores within convenient traveling distance…
Much like a real desert where water is hard to find…
…in a food desert, healthy and nutrient-dense food is also hard to find.
And it is killing millions of people…(1)
Which is why you should stop eating fast food.
In a food desert…
…what you’ll find in place of real, nutrient-dense food is cheap food-like products in colorful packages that contain barely any real ingredients.
How do you know if you’re in a food desert?
It’s simple…
…if it’s easier to find fast food or packaged food-like products than it is to find real, nutrient-dense food then you’re in a food desert. (2)
Just how bad is it?
One well-known company that produces thousands of food-like products is currently being sued for mislabeling its products on a massive scale because they contain hardly any real ingredients at all. While many of these items are found in convenience stores…
…they can also be found on the shelves of premium grocery stores that also sell healthy whole foods.
Which means toxic food products are everywhere, even in the places that you’d think they wouldn’t be.
And that’s why it’s important to learn to read food nutrition labels.
But it gets even better…
…because learning how to read the ingredients on a nutrition label is a simple way to take control of your health.
Here’s how to do it…
The ingredients on every food label are listed in order of the most abundant to the least reading from left to right.
For example…
…if enriched flour is listed as the first ingredient, it is the most abundant ingredient in the product and everything that follows is found lower and lower amounts.
When the nutrition labels on these packaged items contain high-fructose corn syrup, toxic vegetable oils and seed oils, and other toxic chemicals…
…then you know you should avoid these items.
Instead, replace it with real food, which in this case would be strawberries.
It really is that simple.
Because here’s the deal…
These toxic substances are everywhere…
…and unless you know what to look for you’re putting your health at risk.
If and when you find yourself in a food desert you will have to work extra hard to ensure that you are getting adequate nutrition from real food.
But rest assured it can be done.
